BCOME is responsible for the interior design, space planning and project management of Hotel Altini in Bologna, scheduled to open in 2028. The commission encompasses guest rooms, suites, the restaurant and lounge bar, developed through a shared concept that connects the hotel’s accommodation and social spaces.
The interior concept draws on Scandinavian restraint and mid-century proportions, with an emphasis on material texture, comfort and balanced composition. This approach establishes a consistent character across the hotel while allowing each area to respond to its purpose. Materials, furniture and lighting are considered together from the outset.
The design considers privacy, circulation and the relationships between different functions, establishing a clear organisation across private and shared areas. Within the accommodation, the focus is on comfort and a sense of ease throughout the stay.
The restaurant and lounge bar extend the concept into the hotel’s social spaces. Each has a distinct role within the wider hospitality offer, with its own requirements for service, interaction and atmosphere. Their design balances this individual character with continuity across the hotel.
BCOME’s scope connects the design concept with its development and delivery. Interior design, material specification, furniture and lighting selection are coordinated through the project management process, providing a consistent basis for decisions as Hotel Altini progresses towards completion.
